Michael Gormley, better known to friends as “Gomer,” has a degree in philosophy and theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville. In high school, he struggled greatly with God’s existence, the problem of pain and suffering in the world, and the tension between science and religion. Encountering Jesus Christ in the Eucharist changed his life from that point on.
He does full time ministry at a parish, as well as developing talks, podcasts, and writing articles on LayEvangelist.com. He’s the luckiest man in the world, married to Shannon and proud dad to Kateri, Cecilia, and Noah. Although he was not born there, he considers himself a true Texan.
